Summary & Review of Book

The Soy Deception explains why soy in its unfermented form is an un-healthy food and not the "health food" we have been led to believe. Beginning with how the bean is grown, processed and then made into various foods the reader learns soy is generating billions of dollars in the commercial agribusiness and fast food industry. Virtually every part of the plant is used and soy ends up in many products (not only food) that consumers would never expect. Detailed information about the detrimental health impacts of soy on the body are explained clearly and in a way that the general public can understand. Chapters include a Q & A section and Final Thoughts for quick reference. Research sources are notated along with helpful books and websites for further information. There is even a recipe section at the end of the book with gluten, dairy and soy free recipes. This is an excellent book for the professional to use as a quick reference. It is also a good book to have patients read who are allergic to soy or who have been eating un-fermented soy believing it is a healthy food.
