The Sundance Center is seeking a Per Diem RN that specializes in eating disorders.  The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of Nursing experience,  2 years working with eating disorders, chemical dependency and/or behavioral health experience preferred.  Must possess a strong Nursing background with knowledge of medications.

  • Direct patient care and assessment; including the reporting of observed changes in mental status and/or physical condition, response to emergencies, safety risks.
  • Availability and timeliness in terms of 24 hr. coverage for consultation and emergencies and when unavailable, informs appropriate individuals.
  • Inclusion of physical health services and other related issues in clients' treatment plans.
  • Properly QA client medication sheets, to determine clients are receiving appropriate meds and in a timely manner, including proper destruction of medication.
  • Coordination with attending physicians to ensure all admission orders are addressed and appropriate ancillary assessments and services are provided.
  • Completes documentation in an efficient and timely manner, including nursing assessments, transcription ofM.D.s' phone orders, appropriate policies and procedures, medication administration sheets, progress relative to the client's treatment plan.
  • Development and implementation of quality assurance for infection control, nursing, pharmaceutical, ancillary, and laboratory services.
  • Attendance and participation in terms of treatment planning conferences and professional staff meetings
  • Orientation and training of staff regarding pharmaceutical and physical health services, and infection control.
  • Performance in relation to ethics and professionalism.
  • R.N.'s overall performance and competency in terms of consistency with education, training, experience and reflective of current standards of practice/care.
  • Calls in medications to pharmacy.
  • Provides in service training to technical staff on medications, documentation, and monitoring of vital signs.
  • Provides ongoing patient education on all aspects of detox, recovery, medications and other health issues.
  • Minimum of 2 years working with eating disorders
  • Valid Arizona Nursing license
  • Current CPR or BLS card
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience; some chemical dependency experience preferred.
  • Overall performance and competency consistent with education, training, experience and reflective of current standards of practice/care
  • Good communication skills and basic computer literacy
  • Ability to work independently
