The Nutrition Consortium is a group of rapidly growing non-profit organizations unleashing the power of nutrition to save and vitalize lives.

The Director of Development will help us refine and implement our development strategy and plan. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded interest in nutrition.

The Director of Development will be responsible for philanthropic fundraising and engaging corporate sponsors. This includes leveraging key relationships and contacts within and outside the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the overall Development activities of the organization, leveraging our many support and Board member resources
  • Refine and implement comprehensive development strategy
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and new Foundation, corporate and individual donors
  • Manage giving campaigns
  • Cultivate major gifts
  • Develop and manage the Board’s fundraising capacity
  • Write grant proposals and reports to Foundation and corporate funders
  • Oversee small Development support staff
  • Work in partnership with other department heads of the organization
  • Report to the CEO to improve marketing ROI

Ideal Candidate Skills

  • Demonstrated interest in nutrition and food and/or must be driven by an interest in the mission personally and/or professionally
  • A deep understanding of philanthropic practices of individuals, foundations and corporations
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and thorough understanding of strategic development
  • Proven track record of achieving strong results
  • High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – demonstrated ability to write persuasively
  • High degree of initiative
  • Minimum of 5 years of development experience, emphasis on philanthropic giving is a plus
  • Ability to travel periodically

  • Compensation: Based on experience
